The Art of the Maltese Table

The dining room at Gozitan, St Julian’s

Generous, genuine and unhurried. That is what a meal at Gozitan is really about.

A good meal is not measured in tweezers and foam. At Gozitan it is measured in full tables, second helpings and the kind of evening that runs long because nobody wants it to end.

Generous, genuine, unhurried

Merħba is the first word any Maltese host offers, and it means more than welcome. It carries the warmth of a culture shaped by history, the sea and a famously generous table. Plates are generous, the pace is gentle, and nobody rushes you out, because the table is meant to be lingered over.

Nearly two decades of welcome

Since opening in Paceville in 2007, we have served families, neighbours, returning regulars and first-time visitors discovering Maltese food for the first time. Many arrive as strangers and leave as friends. That is the real craft of the Maltese table, and it cannot be bought, only earned, one guest at a time.

Sit down and stay a while. The kitchen has been waiting for you.
